We provide a safe, confidential service for patients who would like to get screened or treated for sexually transmitted infections (STIs). STIs may not present with any symptoms so it is important to attend for early detection to arrange timely treatment and also protect the transmission onto others. Occasionally STIs can affect fertility or cause illness at some point and so it is important if you have ever been sexually active to get regular checks. STI checks usually consist of a history, examination if required and blood tests and a swab or urine test.
