Turloughmore Medical Centre has been serving the medical needs of the surrounding communities of claregalway, lackagh and beyond for many years. There has been a general practitioner in Turloughmore since 1851 and we are proud to continue the tradition of providing high quality continuous, comprehensive, co-ordinated primary medical care through an efficient and friendly practice team.
We have a large modern, purpose built health center located in Lackagh which was opened in 2002. We have a specialized team of healthcare providers including nine GPs and one GP Registrar , two nurses, two practice managers and four administration staff. There is easy access for wheelchairs and child buggies and ample parking spaces available in the adjoining carpark.
We are a GP training practice with a long association with the Western GP Training Program since 1976 and each year we have a Specialist GP Registrar who becomes part of our team. We are also involved in the training of undergraduate Medical Students from the University of Galway and have strong ties with the university through the Professor of General Practice working in practice here.
